BAPTISM

A Baby Blessing is a ceremony in which
parents, families and friends welcome a child
into the family
into their home
and into the world 

It is an alternative to a traditional Baptism  

It is a way to fill a Spiritual need
for those who are not affilliated
with any specific religious faith or
for those with no religious leanings

It is simply a way to officially and lovingly
endow the great gift of their own name upon a child

While Baby Blessings are civil in nature
they often contain Spiritual or Ancient rituals 
in other words, the child is welcomed
into the world and universe
rather than into a religion 

They are ideal for families with different faiths or none

They can be held at any suitable venue
but, depending on numbers attending
they are most often held in the child's own home

This is probably where "Baby"
who is the central participant in the ceremony
is most comfortable and most peaceful

The ceremonies can be carried out at any age

The Baby-Naming ceremonies I will hold for you
are created  together with the parents
considering the needs of each family
 but concentrating on the individuality and uniqueness of the child

   Our name is possibly the most important gift we will ever receive from our family
  It defines us
  It identifies us 
 It singles us out from the great hoard of humanity as a specific being

As not just a human being seeking a spiritual existence
But a spiritual being living the human experience

We will use ritual, readings, music and gifts
To welcome and name this wonderful child

We will involve family members in the ceremony
Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles
Spiritual Guardians/Mentors

I will hold the ceremony with love, joy and hope
And create a moment in time uniquely particular to your child
